Quite correct. Mistype. Should have been Watchapreauge inlet. The inlet is in the background the right.

On a prior trip (smaller boat) we stayed in that marina and ate there. Nice, but not for most cruising sailboats (shallow).

Yeah, I would love to dock my boat there after I retire, but it's like 5 miles to the inlet.

You have to know the inlet well not to hit bottom. Plus, it can get rough there.

We used to fish near and at Wachapreague Inlet also, but that was in the 70's up until 1980 or so.

There's lots of low water on both sides of the Eastern Shore so Cape Charles and Onancock are the most known stopping places on the lower end.

It's also about 5 miles into Onancock Creek to get to the Wharf though, but there is a nice restaurant there also. You can anchor about 100 yards from the Wharf and restaurant, and it's totally protected. Depth is close to 8' all the way in.

If you are into art, there are lots of little shops there that sell art. The old movie house is still operating. Photo of downtown Onancock from around 1969 or so. I did see that movie then with my 8th grade girlfriend and her dad! He was a NASA Engineer at Wallops. It's no where near that busy there these days.

They turned my old High school into some sort of art thing also.

I went into Occohannock Creek recently, but it has a low spot of around 4' on the way in, and it's very narrow. It's between Cape Charles and Onancock.

There is a small marina in there though at Davis Wharf. No restaurant but they do have a lift for haul out.
