1. The captain/skipper/owner might require Form NEP from his bank (this is where the Reserve Bank notes the value of the yacht and clears it to leave the country). This can take up to 2 weeks to get.
2. The captain/skipper also needs to submit your flight plan to SA Sailing - who will issue a authorization to leave the country. Done by email.
3. The vessel needs to be SAMSA registered - Category A with a valid Certificate of Fitness.
thanks for that ,it's been a while since i last checked out of there!

i see they also want proof from each marina you have visited that all fees have been paid.
