Moorings at Hotel Formentor Mallorca

I am planning a trip next month sailing round Mallorca. I understand that there are some moorings off the Hotel Formentor in Pollensa Bay. Does anyone know anything about these and if so whether:

a) they are worth a visit; and
b) you can just turn up or if you have to book ahead.

I have e-mailed the hotel but they have told me that these moorings do not belong to them

Go to 36 - 32.6 N x 04 - 36.9 W where you'll find a town named Fuengirola. It's a sweet little beach town mid way between Malaga & Mallorca featuring a nice marina with free anchorage. They built the breakwater first and ran out of money while building the marina... which means there's a safe anchorage within the breakwater! We stayed there three months and were never asked to pay a cent. We met several other yachties with boats berthed in the marina who gladly let us use their shower keys. There's a train station which can connect you Malaga and all points beyond. Mallorca is about 10 miles west and Gibraltar is 50 miles west. In settled weather, the anchorage is safe enough to leave the boat for trips inland.
