Shipping Yacht to Asia

Can anyone advise me how to ship a yacht from Med Europe to Asia. (Thailand, Singapore or India). Must be economical. We can sail her to meet ship etc in the Med. Awatea is a Hanse 531 sailboat.

Define "economical"

We priced moving our 34' Gemini from the U.S. east coast to northern Europe and they were coming back at around $12-20k one way.

Considering the longer distance and much larger boat, you could easily be looking at 4-5 times as much...maybe more.

Well, I was quoted $99,000. This is far too much. I am hoping for something like $40-50,000

a delivery skipper could do it for that rate...ask boatman61 for details

Assuming they have the full details on your vessel and the routing options, it sounds reasonable but it's definitely worth shopping around.

If you go the delivery captain route, make sure you get all the details regarding insurance, incidental costs and factor in wear and tear. I suspect, you will find that it isn't that much cheaper if you have all your ducks in a row.

I can do it for less than the lower figure, however this would be a delivery via Panama/Pacific as I am not prepared to take the Suez route..
