Someplace warm

I am thinking of taking a week or two vacation from the Wisconsin weather this coming Feb. I would like to trailer my old venture 24 to somewhere warm, I have been stuck on our small local lake with it all summer, and would like to take it someplace with room to sail and cruise a little with it . Any suggestions would be appreciated,.

Maybe warm compared to Wisconsin, but the SOC isn't all that warm in February in my experience. Cold and strong N'ly winds blow much of the time, and life ain't so nice aboard, especially in a small boat. Many cruisers leave the SOC and head further south on the mainland... PV or further to get warm!

Dunno if trailering that far is practical for the OP.

Trailering that far is definitely not practical for me , i was thinking of the keys, but that's over 1500 miles.

The Sea of Cortez is in Mexico, with all the red tape that goes along with it.
Way back in a simpler time, all it took was a voter registration card to get a tourist card.

Winter is a great time for sailing around Galveston, TX. But, IMHO, the pain of driving there is not worth it for a one week vacation. Round trip is a four day trip done carefully. It might not be worth travel time even for 14 day trip.

Maybe fly to the keys and rent.
