Sorry Cheech, yes it was a joke. But you have to admit they are unusual spots.

Was I ever wrong!!

It's refreshing to read a site written by someone who has real writing skills, and interesting stuff to say. Well done.

Vic,

Many thanks for the kind words. I am enjoying your blog now - especially Sandy's "Nude" Pics!

Cheers.

South coast UK... Solent to Falmouth... beautiful coastline, challenging navigation if wanted, sheltered sailing grounds, a variety of anchorages, great pubs and restaurants... its awesome...
Shame about the weather...

Almost all good and each one for different reasons. Portuguese and Spanish markets just have no equal around the atlantic with centuries old culture. Flamenco in Cadiz, fantastic. Azores are just special. Windwards & leewards, great sailing with fantastic anchoages, but pricey and food limited. But there's one place which always brings a happy smile when people ask. Not sure why as it's a bit dodgy and the sailing areas are limited. But remembering Brazil just makes me smile

Happy place, and with cachaca just over a quid a litre, sobriety is no longer a financial decision.

Just because I began sailing Buzzard's Bay, MA as a kid, and snooked into every eel-rut there ever was doesn't mean the bay is the *best* except to me.

Exumas Isles, many years ago, gave us a wonderful time. But this blue ball sure has some nifty spots . . .

Nukuoro Atoll

Friendly locals, great marine life, pretty much untouched and rarely visited.

Re: Where Is the Best Place You Have Sailed ?

Sp far I have covered from S.F Ca. to Puerto Vallarta, and back. From St. Marteen to N.E. Florida, and then down to the Keys. From N.E. Florida to the Windward Passage to Columbia, Panama to Costa Rica. A day sail in the Philippines at a resort on a Hobie.

So far in these travels I choose the Bahamas for it's clear water, friendly locals, isolation, or with other cruisers. At every turn there seems to be something so beautiful! I am positive there is better than the Bahamas. I just haven't been fortunate enough to get there YET!........i2f

Agreed on PNW - the most spectacular. I love be in the northern sections early in the season with the snow capped mountains.

I have not sailed Greece, but the historical sites in Turkey is amazing. I once had to move my boat forward as we had a Roman column under our rudder. Sailing into Knidus will always be in my memories.

Re: Where Is the Best Place You Have Sailed ?

The Med coast of Turkey and Croatia take some beating. But a little shared secret is the British Scilly Islands during a warm summer.

The seas are just as blue as those shown in the Caribbean.
The rock formations are just as spectacular as the granite coast of Brittany.
The beaches are as white and clean as the Whitsundays.
The sailings as good as it can get.
The anchoranges are sheltered, varied, and usually uncrowded.
The locals are not just friendly, they leave food for sale beach side with honesty boxes.............and no one needs lock up anything.

Cheers
JOHN
