It is rather difficult b/c the broker hasn't even seen the boat and has no maintenance report on file but is blocking any offer that is not close to the initial asking price b/c it is considered in good condition, which it is not (not even sure if the owner knows the condition of the boat given it was in charter).
think you might have a reg flag here...

some owners stick so hard to their beloved-boat's price tag that the boat rots for years... happened to me once. the broker would not tell me outright. because i'm getting kind of good at distrusting, i finally got the info before booking a flight to view the boat.

(above) is your best piece of advise.

1) Call Broker
2) Arrange Viewing
3) View vessel. During viewing, ask questions and discuss maintenance.
4) Make an offer
5) Haggle Price
6) Survey Vessel
7) Seatrial
8) Close

This is the process. You're starting with Step #3 and #5 via an E-mail. You don't need to agree with the process, but arguing against it is futile.

This is the process when the broker has seen the boat.

If the broker has not seen the boat, then it is very difficult to know if you are flying out to see something that no longer resembles the images condition-wise.

if the boat is down the road frpł your home, that's one thing. if it is somewhere far away, dig until you find out the true condition of the boat.

i recommend that ask for recent photos (time-stamped).

All good advise. For now I put this on hold for the next 2 weeks - Travel restrictions would not allow a showing or sea trial in Italy just yet. I hope for June 15th.

btw. I already asked for up2date pictures -> ignored.
