Re: March April 2022 Bahamas crossing

Friday is looking good. South wind on the back of the high wind on Wednesday and Thursday.

Its almost a guarantee that motoring will be required, due to speed/direction.

Half in jest. But we have done 6x crossings since fall, and can count on one finger sails only.
Saying that, we have not been starting significantly south of target, making it a bit more sensitive to allowed headings

Shoot since we left Deltaville back in early January I can count on one hand with 2 missing fingers the times we have been able to sail. But I can use all my fingers for the number of snow storms, ice storms hand gale force winds we have had to avoid. I would taking some motoring just to get across now.

L380 is an excellent powerboat, as you likely already know. I think I will start doing more with one engine as opposed to two. I've been doing the 100 hour oil changes in anchorages, offshore, etc. Last trip, started with near fresh oil, first change in Lake Sylvia, and when home was still 30 hours overdue.

A fine motor sail today. South winds became South East winds sailing at about 60 degrees. Little rougher than predicted also. We had a couple of other boats with us. We got into Bimini around 4:45pm.
