the Catorce

The Catorce was a 46-foot Durbeck cutter built in Bradenton, Florida, and registered in Grand Cayman. In April of 1979, she took part in the Del Sol al Sol Regatta from St. Petersburg to Isla Mujeres. The owner and crew later took the Catorce to Roatan and then planned on visiting Cozumel. Approaching the island at night from the southern tip, they traveled up the east coast of the island but became disoriented and plowed into the shore. The boat was not insured, so the owner gave the salvage rights to an islander, but the operation went sour after the boat was badly damaged when she was dragged higher up the shore. Does anybody out there know who the captain was or anything else about this vessel?
