E15 error message on MC614. Anything to worry about?

I've recently fitted a Balmar MC614 external regulator together with the alternator temperature sensor but omitting the battery temperature sensor. On the scrolling long display I get the E11 and E12 error messages about the battery temperature, which are expected, but I also get an E15 error message as below. Is this normal? I'm reassured that I get what looks like an accurate AL (alternator temperature) reading.

E15 ALTERNATOR #1 TEMP. SENSOR CABLE OPEN OR NOT FOUND.

Chris from Balmar here,

Our tech answered your question via your support request. For others that may be reading this, the error codes remain in memory until cleared, so if you powered up the reg without a temp sense installed, you would see this code until cleared.

The E codes are non-volatile, that is, they state in the register till they are cleared out. To clear the E register you access DSP in programming but change nothing. When the unit goes back to normal display, it dumps the E register. After that point and new E-codes are valid.

Thanks ... all clear now. I couldn't think where the original errors occurred but then I remembered that I did the programming at home without sensors
