I have a smaller hybrid system for the house bank, but keep the FLA and LFP connected together when on board, isolating the LFP when we are shoreside. Engine start remains an AGM.

Therefore charge the AGM from the engine and then use a DC>DC charger from the AGM to charge the LFP. That way its all under control and you won't cook the alternator. They also have adjustable settings for LFP.

Two options but there are more:

https://www.victronenergy.com/dc-dc-...ated#downloads

https://sterling-power.com/collectio...rip-proof-ip21
An alternative is https://nordkyndesign.com/product/no...ce-controller/

Enables direct charging of Lithium from alternators with inbuilt regulator eg many Volvo Penta's.

I ended up going the Engines > starter AGM's > DCC chargers > Lithium route

This.

But only if your alternator regulator can be set/programmed for LFP. If not, and you don’t want to add an external regulator (which will also add alternator protection such as belt management) then go with charging the start AGM battery first.
