Re: Lipo vs lifepo4

Yes the first question needs resolving is

Are these really LFP?

If not then IMO it's no longer of interest.

Apparently already purchased two?

actually awaiting manufacturers confirmation of my required specs and revised shipping costs before I place the order.
( the cost may have gone up significantly due to new tariffs )
I don't actually need the second battery.
And no I having been to the boat hope to get there next week for a few days.

Re: Lipo vs lifepo4

Don't look to find a quality set of cells from an unknown vendor super cheap.

There's only a handful of know-good makers of cells.

Since the whole point of getting good value is longevity, it will take 4-8 years after widely purchased for a new entrant to gain as good a reputation.

If you are looking to be a reseller, the margin will be in the systems integration more than the cells themselves.

end user here

I found cheaper ( a relative term) prismatic cells these are smaller cells but that just means I can configure my bank in a smaller footprint for my install. The price is 318. For the cells to build a 4s4p 100ah bank ( the cells are camel battery cells well respected domestic brand in China) so found a 4p 60a 60a bms cheap ( as in under a hundred.still working out the details )
they give a 10 year warranty on the cells .
Will post pictures and final numbers when deal is struck.
I know 25ah cells are small but if I go for their 100 ah cells for a 1s4p bms becomes an issue.

OT I know, just thought I'd share a funny (not) Science Project video

DIY 18650 Pocket Welder

Do not try this at home, and especially not on a boat
