If you feel this way why do you also downgrade someone that spends his time and money just to broaden others understanding of lfp and everything associated with offgrid.

Those of us on here are happy to share what we know and have learned using our own lfp house banks .

I believe he has much more experience than you have. I think I know more about electrical engineering than anyone but lacking direct experience with LFP, I would never knock someone like Will who puts effort and energy into showing us his hands-on experience instead of theoretical ramble

Re: lithium battery source/price thread

I think it would be helpful to put this on the thread: links to lifepo4 battery cells and keep this thread for drop-ins only

That would make sense when the thread title would say “lifepo4 drop-ins only” or even “lifepo4 drop-ins” ... but it doesn’t

Edit: also, I tried to find the thread you mention, but it isn’t there

If you look at the original post he's asking specifically about drop-ins. But I agree it should be in the title. Well maybe you need to put in a capital L for Links

Links to lifepo4 battery cells
PS I just realized I can "share"

I had not read the first post in the thread. I’m sure if you ask an admin, they can modify the thread title to fix this.

Thank you for the link to the other thread. The search function on this forum is really bad to not show it when a lowercase letter is used.

Simply stated Will has standing. His opinions are based not on his reading and learning but also on his direct experience.

Re: lithium battery source/price thread

Well I did it

492 for the batteries includes shipping .
147 for the 200amp bms.
48. For the meter with the 350 amp shunt.
Cost between the 150amp shunt and the 350amp shunt was insignificant.
( get the bigger one )
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Battery-Mon...edirect=mobile

So the bank total is 687 for the complete bank plus the parts for the case. ( I had them on hand ).

They tested out at 264.8 ah

Re: lithium battery source/price thread

I purchased 4 CALB CA100FI cells from BATTERY WHAREHOUSE on ALIEXpress to add to the 12 cells I purchased from GWL power in Prague.
The cells from CHINA arrived yesterday. They do not have any serial #s or manufacture dates on them... The GWL ones do have.. HOW can you claim on something that does not have any id markings... I suspect these are CALB rejects..Be VERY weary of this seller they may look like a good deal.

Re: lithium battery source/price thread

Missed a few things earlier. Out of curiosity what is the weight of the 268 ah bank? I thought some about Lithium this time but for $300 including tax and delivery to Vero dinghy dock got 225 ah of T105. I think I would have needed new solar controllers also.

I did see some on eBay that were made supposedly from Chevy Volt packs that seemed appealing but was more like $800 for 250 ah. How long do these last? Batteries in my Prius V were 2012 and 212,000 miles and still seemed pretty good.

Looks like a pre-order price from a start-up.

Very attractive price, but i'm suspicious of any lithium battery manufacturer named four volt and who lists charge current as 50Ah (amp hours) when it correctly should be 50A (amps).
I know small points that might be attributed to translation errors, but aren't these also the signs of a scam?
