Re: lithium battery source/price thread

It was a literal interpretation, if "they" referred to the company.

Re: lithium battery source/price thread

I just heard that Dakota Lithium, other than offering their 170ah batteries is also selling 100amp/hr and 50amp/hr. Not sure the pricing but might be worth a check on their website or a call.

Also, while briefly going through this message board saw a comment to trade tariffs. The current list of US trade tariffs does not include LFP powder, cells or finished batteries. It does include many of the items to create a battery though, including the BMS. something to keep in mind if trying to put together your own setup from larger cells.

perhaps you would like to call Rachel as she suggested a while back to discuss your future lifepo4 needs . That is if you ever actually want Lfp house banks .
Do you remember this conversation now .

researching back on the quoted posts , yes my post about the 10 year warranty is in ref the drop ins you listed . They appear to be a good battery .
Personally I would rather go for half that cost and build my own bank and install an external bms .

This thread is well worth a read http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...st-206421.html

Also happy th assist any way I can just pm me

Wow, ok. I would consider building this myself and will dig into the thread for details. I thought this was a great price at $1139 for 300AH ($3.80/AH) compared to RELION at $3488, ($11.62/AH) but if I can build it myself for around $2/AH it would be huge win. Thanks, I will be in touch.

I think I would literally use a Honda EU2200i and 30 gallons of gasoline, stored in my cabin under my bunk before I would trust a $2 per AH lithium battery lol.

But everyone has their personal level of risk.

Re: lithium battery source/price thread

haha no risk at all! At least the $2 a Ah are the best cells and everything is put together by the user and therefore knows that everything is connected properly.
One day when you are moored next to him with your little Honda purring away while he has his A/C going without noise you'll pop over & find out the benefits!!
Be careful folks of the difference between warranty & guarantee.
Usually warranty simply refers to faulty product or construction. (as against guarantee it'll run without a problem for 10 years)

I agree with your general sentiment, that the market for **quality, new and top-tier QA** LFP cells is pretty well standardized, and that

prices well below those of known-reputable sellers of GBS/Winston/CALB/Sinopoly

should be viewed with **great** skepticism, basically a red flag.

But, pricing per Ah is most likely based on cell units, 1S, 3.2V, so that $2/Ah becomes $8/Ah at 12V.

Comparing deals at "$ / kWh" is cleaner, can be a bank at any voltage.

And the quote may be FOB/EXW Shenzhen, shipping can be many hundreds more if they are complying with the Hazmat regs.

So, just for giggles, we may easily now be north of $10/Ah @12V delivered

Some people think "drop-in" is better value because their internal BMS is included. I don't, and consider the actual quality of the cells themselves top priority.

GO BUY SOME LFP AND BUILD YOUR OWN BANK TO POST ABOUT .
STOP LIVING VICARIOUSLY THROUGH OTHERS ON THE VARIOUS FORUMS YOU POST SO PROLIFICLY ON.

First hand experience trumps your theoretical every time

Re: lithium battery source/price thread

Delivery for these was quoted at $350 for 3 batts (900AH) which adds another $0.38 cents bringing it up to $4.18/AH delivered. For me, it's worth the $350 to have someone balance and put it all together. I just done know if I can trust it. Really just looking for safe solution at fair price. I would probably sleep a little better if sourced from a
"known-reputable seller of GBS/Winston/CALB/Sinopoly" but not if they are 3x the price.

I took it to mean he was talking $2 per AH at 12V, which I think he confirmed?

That is actually about as cheap as a mid range AGM.

Look, I am all for getting the best price but ever since the Chinese put melamine in IAMS cat food to fool the testers into thinking it had more protein, which killed our Siamese and Abyssinian cats by filling their kidneys full of crystals, I am a bit skeptical of some of the short cuts the Chinese take.
