How were you informed?

What procedures now took place?
Were any of these procedures automated?

I am just interested to know how others are handling this....

or is it as simple as, an alarm down below went off and I started the motor and had a bit of a look at the battery monitor for the next few hours and once the capacity was looking better, I switch the motor off and went back to the sailing.
Well, if I'm not aboard, I get an email. I then log in remotely to see what's going on. If the shorepower cord has been kicked out, we'll already have gotten an email as it will do that if we're within our marina and there's no AC power for more than 6 hours. If neither myself nor my co-owner are in town, we'll text the guy who lives in the floathome across the dock from our slip, and ask him to check the cord. If things really go bad, the BMS will self-protect and shut everything down to protect the battery. This is the beauty that is Victron VRM and a fully integrated system.

If we're away from the dock, we'll see it, fire up the engine, run the alternator full tilt and push amps back into the battery.

I just reconfigured ours for the umpteenth time over the last few days and it's gone a whole new level of retardation.

Now, we have the solar mppt and the BMS saying there is around 50 amps coming in and the victron showing rapidly changing amps , sometimes in the negative.
Also shows batts at 100% when we are at around 60%
That sounds broken. Perhaps the shunt is wired wrong or has a bad connection. If the shunt isn't reading the correct current, then nothing else in the BVM will work properly.

It's the same wiring that has worked for near seven years so I'm guessing it's wired correctly.
I'll give the sender cable a jiggle at the shunt end and see what comes from that.

Simi, you are complacent and this will bite you. You must find the cause and fix it, even when it means removing faulty equipment rather than replacing it.

Also, a BMS does one battery, a BMV can do the whole bank.

.
I could just pull the plug from back of screen - which I did earlier today.
Plugged back in and it "appears" to be working.
Just need to get to 100% and sync

Yes, each of my 3 batteries has its own BMS and I can perform simple maths to add the 3 together if I really need to.

I have been using this method for over a year now as I get more info from the app than I get from the "dumb" victron 712
