It was a pretty crappy article. Just said that a local outbreak was sourced to "a boat trip of several days duration outside the region" and that it involved multiple families. Other than that it was mostly a Covid update for Ontario.

Anyway, yes I read it now. Agreed, it is pretty scant on actual details. Very unclear what kind of vessel we're talking about. Could have been a cruise liner, or a canoe trip, for all the story explains.

Still, it is inevitable that as we open up more, we're going to see surges in infection. The aim is to get the overall infection rates low enough so as to allow for effective testing, contract tracing and monitoring so these flare ups don't lead to mass reemergence.

We're getting there, which is why so many Canadians are testy about anyone flaunting the laws. We've all sacrificed and suffered to make it better for everyone. But it only takes a few yahoos to screw it up for everyone.

I'm not current with my Internet memes, so not sure what "Karen-type" means exactly, but we certainly have our fair share of idiots up here as well.

I encountered one of these special people a couple months ago in a grocery store. He was proudly ignoring all directions for physical distancing, and just had to rip into the 17-year-old cashier about how this was all a Chinese hoax, and that it was no different than the flu.

Sadly, idiocy knows no national boundaries.

Mike:

Karen is a pejorative term used in the United States and other English-speaking countries for a woman perceived as entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is appropriate or necessary. A common stereotype is that of a white woman who uses her privilege to demand her own way at the expense of others.

The internet is full of videos of Karen's

A compilation video of samples. They typically get a specific name such as San Francisco Karen, Stairsteps Karen, Costco Karen, Seattle Karen.

Some are starting to look to Europe, or elsewhere. But for many Canadians with RVs or property in the USA, they just don't have many other options.

P.S Anyone looking for a house sitter this winter? I'm still homeless .
Mike, I'm checking with friends up on the Sunshine Coast (Pender Harbour) to see. A lot of people from Vancouver have summer homes up there, so there may be something. We've been asked several times (in prior years). I'll let you know.

Offenders should be registered with CBSA and banned from Canada for life.

This is getting ridiculous.
