On top of Mike's response.

This i what our family does. Daily, what you do is your issue/responsibility.

1) Vitamin D3 4,000iu
2) Zinc 50mg
3) Vitamin C 1,000 mg.

This is supposed to reduce the damage, might work, might not.
Lots of watching, this crew puts their sources in the video description, so that you can JUDGE for yourself, IF it is reliable information.
Note: If you watch something and the sources are 1) Not in the descrition and 2) Not from reliable sources CDC, NHS or similar. Move on.

Completely agree. I'm pretty annoyed at the media's fixation with the "slow" rollout. Yes, we're not at the top of the list. But we're way ahead of most countries. A little patience... we'll all get the jab eventually.

(And I say this even though my whole life has been turned upside down).

Canada inks deal to produce millions of COVID-19 shots domestically
National Research Council-owned facility in Montreal will produce the Novavax vaccine

But Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne later clarified that the earliest possible production start date is likely "at the end of the year."
So I guess I'm going to lose another cruising season .

That's not a happy prospect Mike, do you at least have someone local keeping an eye on the boat?

As long as BC doesn't close their border, and I can still get to my boat ... come back west again and I'll see if I can squeeze you aboard for a mini adventure.

That's very kind of you. Watch out what you offer, I might just end up on your dock . I made it out to Vancouver Island last summer via motorcycle. Riding two wheels across Canada is the next best thing to sailing .

Friends have looked in on the boat occasionally. And it's in an actual marina, with actual staff, so they will step in if something drastic were to happen. But it's the inside that's I'm concerned about. Might have to hire someone local to do some work.

At least it's not the tropics. I watched both the Wynns (Tonga) and Nahoa's (Thailand)videos about finally getting back to their boats and it was gross. Chalk another one up for sailing in temperate waters

That vaccine plant announcement was typical of much Canadian enterprise - underwhelming and late . Grrr. Why didn't we kickstart that LAST June, ffs? And we should be building it in Alberta.

Globally there are delivery glitches, but I still expect that by May/June supply will be steady and vaccinations on track. I am willing to predict that you will be launching your boat this summer.

Why Alberta, in particular?

How about last August instead of June? That is when they made the original announcement about the plant. Going from zero domestic production to some domestic production is not a trivial matter.

https://nrc.canada.ca/en/covid-19-re...infrastructure

Exactly why Alberta? Have you not seen how they have been dealing with the pandemic? How about the way they have been playing politics by leaving millions on the table because they were made available by the big bad horrible governing party in that other place they refuse to mention. Hard to blame those people for ALL your provincial issues when you accept their help.

The LAST place in Canada that plant should have gone is Alberta.

The media fixates on the slow roll out because the numbers just don't work. The feds insist that every Canadian "who wants a vaccine will have it by September" but the vaccine deliveries and actual injections (in Ontario at least) are running at rates that will take 5 years to complete for Ontario alone. Unfortunately we're not ahead of most countries.

Re: CANADIAN COVID-19 NEWS

I'm just touchy about how often Canada is slow off the mark with this sort of initiative.

I suggested Alberta just cos they could use a kickstart into a new area.

I lost the link, but search cbc, there was an announcement that there is a company starting in Edmonton, I believe, they have the building, are going to start stage 2 trial, and are putting together the cash. They are associated with University of Edmonton. How far they have gotten?
