Well darn. Guess I was misinformed.

All this time I thought Covid was a socialist hoax perpetrated by Bill, Hillary and Obama through their puppet Biden, all run out of a pizza parlor in DC.

And I need to haul to do some work on the boat and all those Canadians have booked up the travel lift until February. Really, just because they've been trapped in the Great White North for two years with their boats rotting away in a sleazy old boat yard in Florida what's the big hurry? You'd think they would give a local boy a turn.
I live on the flight path from eastern Canada to FL. You should have seen the aircraft in November! Non stop from 0530. Reports are that Canadians who’ve been absent for two years are flooding FL. Snowbirds report that their Canadian friends are returning in force. Zero available hotels in some areas.

Except for the fact that they've crowded the boat yards Florida welcomes them back. All that tourist money pays my taxes.

Re: Covid?

Who is the covid troll? I'm a full time cruiser. I don't know where my dock lines are. Where are yours? Covid isn't even an aspect of my life. But it certainly seems to be well and alive here. I believe the original post was pointing to that fact.

The unfortunate reality, is that this forum has gone downhill is a big way. Mostly because of BS topics and people who don't know ****, giving out bad advice. If you want to find any decent information, you've got to dig and research threads from years ago.

I understand you older gentlemen have a really big concern over the flu, but maybe talk about it somewhere else. Or maybe I should just mind my own business and delete my account. It hasn't done much for me in half a decade.

I guess most of us older folks are concerned but that doesn't help much.

I have to test those employees weekly that have not gotten vaccinated at work. That's the rule for those that qualified for a religious exemption.

Since that started three weeks ago we have had 3 test positive and one tech has been out three weeks due to his positive Covid 19 Tests. He is totally asymptomatic.

Another that was sick returned on Thursday and I had to test him. I'm on the far side of 65 years old headed to 70 and have to be around these fellows.

Of the entire work force, only 3 went with the religious exemption and 2 of those have tested positive.........but of course those are the only ones being tested.

I've had the Pfizer shots but had no side effects since I believe I had Covid during the Spring of 2020 but continued to work the entire time.

The social distancing is kind of cool. When this thing is over, I would appreciate if everyone continues to keep at least six feet away!

Thanks!

But... shouldn't you be out sailing?

Re: Covid?

While I was in the navy, and we were out at sea, I didn't get sick much until we came into port.

Hence anyone who has sufficient supplies and desires to stay well should consider sailing for the duration of the pandemic.

And continue to mask. In the last 2 years I haven't had so much as a cold, even though I have a couple 'snot-monster' grandchildren and transport the elderly and infirm a couple days a week to medical appointments. When this eventually subsides, I fully intend to maintain the 'protocol' when the kids have runny noses and I'm driving the patients.

On a similar note, I must travel to Florida to get my Boat. I've decided to fly, rent a truck and tow it back, instead of driving out, to save time.

I am hoping I'll be OK, since I have been vacinated and boosted and the Gaurdian writes that UK studies show that Omicron is less likely to put one in the Hospital than the original variant.

The testing is mandatory as is mask wearing in certain spaces.

Btw, which God are you praying to at your church?

God of the Sky? Zeus?

God of the Sea? Poseidon?

The one and only brother. And it just so happens, it's his birthday today!
