Do you honestly think I endangered the crew of an 1100 foot container ship?

My crew was well instructed on was about to occur. We had 20 hours to the rendezvous coordinates . I stayed on the helm; my watch captain was the one who was charged with the task of getting the evacuee onto the Jacob's ladder. he did a fabulous job. The captain of the Navarino has told that he hopes any other rescues would go as smoothly. The boat owner congratulated my when we got to Vancouver.

The only taxpayer money was the coordination by AMVER. https://www.amver.com/

The owners of the rescue ship volunteered it for the AMVER program.

The captain of the rescue was awarded the Greek Seafarer of the Year for the rescue. We are now friends. He trusted my abilities to get our boat along side. Both boats were moving at 3 knots during the transfer

Was I concerned? Damned rights, I was. It was among the scariest 7 minutes and 20 seconds of my life. I had a crew member in medical distress; he needed help. I was not going to endanger his life.

I have done some presentations of the medevac.

https://www2.slideshare.net/JackDale/rescue-me-30496650

I hope you never have to go through the experience. I do not think you could handle it.

That was quite a post Jack. You must be very proud of yourself.

But you might want to ask a professional why you found the need for the insult at the end.

I am proud of my crew who did a great job. I am proud of the captain of the Navarino. I am proud the the folks at RCC. I am proud of the folks at AMVER ( I got It to know the head of the program; he provided a lot of advice in the presentation.)

Since to you think I endangered a whole bunch of folks in the rescue, you have no idea what is involved. If you think that is an insult, so be it.

I wrote the event up for our regional yachting magazine. It is at the end of this article,

You might ask a professional, maybe a professional sailor, why you discounted my experience.

Good on you. A admirable accomplishment. Not many could have done so well -- I certainly couldn't. It is no insult to state such a thing.

Feel free to point out insults.

ETA: Actually just report the insults.

Mike, are you staying with a friend currently and did that friend fly with you recently.

I asked you before and you haven’t answered.

What about CT count? Even Fauci's saying less than 35. (The quote is from the report not Fauci).
How many hours do you think it takes studying about PCR and infections to be able to understand the answer to your question? I don't mean to be rude, but there is no easy answer and as a practical matter this does not apply to screening for the foreseeable future if ever.

You accused my of endangering a whole of people. My first responsibility as a skipper is the safety of my crew; I take it very seriously.

Any time you go out on the water you are endangering yourself and your crew.

It’s dangerous out on the water and you carry an Epirb in case you need to be rescued.

Re: FACT vs OPINION

I think what Jason means is by wearing a PLB your crew need to go back for you therefore endangering themselves. Instead you should just suck it up and die.
