Seriously??????

Methinks you are making fun of us readers but for anyone who really doesn't know the answer; it is straightforward - there is no Covid20 and never will be. 2020 has passed and will never return thus preventing an occurrence of a 'Covid20'.

I prefer Chanel #19, but this epidemic has even managed to taint this. Not enough to stop me using it though . Green notes rule .

Totally off topic (apologies to all) but I need to follow up on green notes. Wild garlic leaves make the most phenomenal flavoured oil. It is available in abundance here in Scotland at the moment. I would probably not have been introduced to the joys of this had it not been for the pandemic:

Yeethinks correct.
Ah, but there is still ample time in 2021 for a Covid-21, if we are ever so unfortunate.

Glad you provided clarity in case there might be some confusion in this regard. And of course Poe's Law applies as usual.

COVID-19 Corona Virus Disease 2019

So following the logic of the numbering scheme, SARS-CoV-2 should be followed by SARS-CoV-3.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus [SARS-CoV a.k.a. SARS-CoV-1] arose in 2003. Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is the disease caused by SARS-CoV-1. In the SARS outbreak of 2003, about 9% of patients with confirmed SARS-CoV-1 infection died. The mortality rate was much higher for those over 60 years old, with mortality rates approaching 50% for this subset of patients.
The mortality rate for SARS-CoV-2 / Covid-19 is much less, but this virus has spread drastically further. While the number of cumulative COVID-19 deaths is staggering, we rather dodged a bullet as to its potential lethality. Imagine if the death rate was similar to the predecessor COV-1, or of the MERS-CoV of 2012 - 2015 which had a case fatality rate of 30%.

Human SARS-CoV-1 appears to have had a complex history of recombination between ancestral coronaviruses that were hosted in several different animal groups. In order for recombination to happen at least two SARS-CoV-1 genomes must be present in the same host cell. Recombination may occur during genome replication when the RNA polymerase switches from one template to another (copy choice recombination).

SARS-CoV-1 is one of seven known coronaviruses to infect humans. The other six are:

Human coronavirus 229E (HCoV-229E)
Human coronavirus NL63 (HCoV-NL63)
Human coronavirus OC43 (HCoV-OC43)
Human coronavirus HKU1 (HCoV-HKU1)
Middle East respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus (MERS-CoV)
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)

Not that far off topic .

A cottage cure for CV19 perhaps. It can be taken neat internally or applied externally; Garlic is a known antiviral but in this instance, the greatest benefit is probably the social distancing that occurs naturally after a few doses. Use daily and always soak your mask in it overnight.

I wonder if the Spanish were ticked that the influenza pandemic of 1918-20 was thought to have originated in Leavenworth, Kansas?

It's a reasonable question.
One [not entirely satisfactory] answer lies in intent and context.
There is a subtle difference, between my referring to Covid-19 as that "Chinese Virus", as an epithet, intending to blame china for the disease - and your referring to the "B.1.1.7 Variant", as the "U.K. Variant", as a verbal shorthand.

I'm absolutely shocked, to learn that an opposition party might publicly criticise the governing party, it's policies, and/or competence.

further huge borrowing is the answer. they increased creation of jobs out of nothing as seen from artickel. and property up, and all will be fine. No AUD crash. I wonder why have not they thought of this before, so noone needs to work, just flip properties and travel and spend and be happy ?!?

That's the thing.. figures in Europe are using it to point a finger of blame for the Third Wave..

Pretty weird site as the rest of it is about military equipment.

Well once again I'm confused. The above 2024 predictions don't seen to factor in the predicated 40% decrease in the Australian population that will occur by 2025. Unless of course that 40% decease will only happen between 2024 and 2025. If so, this means there will be around 15 million excess deaths in Australia for that year. That will put the cat among the political pigeons for sure.

I sometimes think the guys making the predications are not talking to each other and getting their ducks in a row before writing up their predictions - I'm starting to distrust their authenticity.

Using what, to blame whom?
That there's a surfeit of ignorant idiots and a-holes, won't surprise many [much less you].
