Fair enough, disagreeing is good too, it must remain part of civilized discourse. My original text simply highlights a concern I have, nothing more, nothing less. I am not in a position of power to do anything with that so we can be cool, no need to raise the voice, I would say.

Abe,

You see, when you spout drivel, it may catch up to you.

That CA governor thing was over a year ago. He managed to way more than just "survive" a recall effort by neanderthals.

SF is doing just fine.

Obama significantly reduced his guest list to allow social distancing.

We could go on...but coming up with only either half the story or none at all is not convincing to those of us who read news, rather than make it up to suit your twisted purposes.

Re: The Reality of Living in Australia and Covid

Pfizer and Moderna already unblinded their control groups and gave them the shots. They don't want to have any control groups. The data gleaned from having unvaxxed comparisons in the "study" could cause more hesitancy. So much for the proper scientific method. No wonder Science is being called the new religion. It is based on faith, not science.

I disagree, too.

Why? Doesn't this mean that 5-20% of the population is being deliberately exposed to needless death?

How about the control group = LESS DEATH more life!

Then, in the coming years new variants are identified, the epsilon from South America, the phi from Asia, etc. Every time big pharma stands ready with a new booster to take care of this and that threat, needed on a personal basis to keep the covid pass valid. The question I thus have is, how do we know this entire vaccination programme remains essential? Only because governments, egged on by big pharma, tell us so. There no longer is a control group who would otherwise and presumably be dying en-masse to provide the real evidence.

This outcome scares me and is this where we want to end up? I want there to always be a control group of 15 to 20% of the population to keep things under control. Agree? Well we are still making new humans and maybe you would like to keep 20% of them unvaccinated as they grow up so you have some unvaccinated control group to experiment on. Let's apply the same logic to measles, mumps, chicken pox, whooping cough etc. Maybe compensate the parents if their children dies.

Not my choice tho.

2 disagree, 0 agree. (Edit: 3 0). I am moving to lessening my worry about this then.

But... In your response you state that [part of the population] is being deliberately exposed to needless death. That's not exactly correct, they are deliberately exposing themselves to needless death.

As a vaccinated person there is some room for being grateful that this group of people exists. In The Netherlands today came the announcement that the state has budgeted for shots 3 and 4 to be scheduled for next year. So far, all these early indications/rumours have translated into hard action so yes, next year no doubt it will be round 3 and 4.

Well I am still not comfortable with the concept of having round after round of vaccines getting rolled out on the premise that it would be so much worse if we did not do that. Please let's not get too comfortable with governments and private companies telling us that. Either the control group is dying left right and centre (idiots, should have taken -and continue to take- the vaccine) or they are quite fine (let's put this covid nightmare behind us once and for good). Without them we will simply never know.

Meanwhile - and this has some relevance to the OP - as nothing much has changed in the Hermit Kingdom.
https://www.watoday.com.au/national/...28-p58vhe.html
Posting all sorts on facebook probably wasn't their smartest move.

And also - over 90% of Australians over 60 have been vaccinated - in my age group 96.5%
While vaccine has only been available to teenagers for a matter of weeks 56% of 16-19 year olds and 33% of 12-15 year olds have already had at least one shot.

https://www.theage.com.au/national/c...28-p56xht.html

Meanwhile Phizer appears to be a bit of a show pony, bolts at the start and then starts to fade, while AZ is the one with the staying power.
AZ is currently being given as a booster to all over 55s in Chile who received one of the chinese vacs before March.

Public health experts differ about exactly why a country of 9.3 million that is vaccinating so aggressively still has one of the highest rates of reported infections per capita in the world, more than twice that of the United States.https://www.science.org/content/arti...-other-nations
The fact that these so called vaccines are failing against the current variant should be a deal breaker. The most vaxxed countries are the current hotspots. By denying and suppressing early treatment options we are committing genocide (is that the goal?). Oh but it is the unvaxxed dying at a greater rate in hospitals you say. Manipulating data is their stock and trade. Why can't we see all of the data? These news stories are designed to shock and awe. When proven wrong they never post retractions. Do big pharma, and big government control our media?

No it means they choose not to get the shots and are respected as humans with an own will.

1. Agree

2. Do not agree. Wotname answered that one: polio, smallpox, measles... C'mon, please. You missed a CRITICAL part: health care specialists and scientists.

I am no supporter of him but please correct me if that was not the guy who brought us "warp speed" and authorized payment to have these injections produced?

Framing it as a political issue is tactful. When you un-blind your control group and give them the concoction near the beginning of the trial, isn't that anti-science? When you silence your top doctors and scientists, isn't that anti-science? When you are not allowed to question the science, isn't that anti-science? When you get your science from convicted felons and bureaucrats with blatant conflicts of interests, could that be anti-science too? You people are amazing. What that guy was right about is the "fake news".

How is advocating for early treatment anti-health? How did Uttar Pradesh India beat the Delta variant? What was in those "medicine kits"? How are they treating covid patients in Japan? Mexico City? Philippines?... the list goes on.

Re: The Reality of Living in Australia and Covid

How can you trust anything in Washington DC when the same people who in November of 2020 Biden, Schummer, Pelosi where telling us that they would not take the Trump vaccine because it was untested and dangerous are the same ones who are mandating vaccines for everyone. What changed...not the vaccine, not Covid, not the science....the politics.
The same people who are pushing this vaccine are the same ones who a year ago would tell you how horrible big PHARMA is and they are into money and profits. Now they want us to believe everything big PHARMA is telling us as they go laughing to the bank.

Blind fools ...do not question...just follow like little sheeps.

And the relevance of this to the Reality of Living in Australia is what exactly?
Why don't you go and bother the Canadians down the hall or have they already chucked you out?

Big spike in cases in Victoria overnight - contact tracing puts it down to lots of Grand Final parties last Saturday.
https://www.theage.com.au/national/v...30-p58vxq.html
There are now some interesting anomalies out there. Traveling from NSW to Tasmania you have to go into hotel quarantine, from Victoria its just home quarantine.
I think it is time we scrap hotel quarantine for international arrivals into NSW and Vic and just insist on full vaccination.
