I never mentioned nor would I drink bud
And I don't drink much beer, never would I pay $65 to $100 for a box of watered down alcohol.
I retired early by not wasting money

But the point is, there was the claim that the cheapest beer in Australia was $60 a carton when clearly it is not.

Well coming from Europe and I have been an ardent student of the topic most of my life I know a fair bit about beer - Just because its a European Beer does not make it a great beer - I have tried a few of the Cheap German import beers here and they are very average - Standards or not. Some of the Great Names of European Beer such as Stella Artois, Holsten Pils and Grolsch are incredibly Chemically in taste and certainly in hangover - This is not to say that there are not many excellent beers there, you just need to be a little bit more discerning and obviously price plays a part here.

FYI I spend around $50 for 23 Liters of the Finest Beer or Cider with no additives or chemicals - I make it myself

Yes they are good beers - I'm personally not so keen on the Wheat Beers, but Weihenstephaner is a nice drop - You won't find any of those for $32 a case here or probably anywhere.

Another good one is the Original Budweiser:

A lot different to it's American counterpart.

Your initial point was that $32 a carton beer would be full of chemicals and impurities.
Many of those beers are German and they have impurity laws as I linked to so your fears of more affordable beers being full of nasties are unfounded.

You mention Stella Artois (wife beater)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...fe-beater.html
It is also available at well under the $60 a carton claim that was made by Allied 39

I make my own adult beverages as well
Zero hangover, zero nasties, negligible cost.

Re: U.S. to close..

The problem with most mass market beer is that the taste is boring and bland. This makes sense; it is for the MASS market. And by definition, this what most people want (or at least what they buy). It's the same with all mass market products.

Craft beers are, by definition, brewed for a much smaller market in mind. They have far greater range of tastes, textures and flavours vs their mass market cousins. German purity laws don't really enter into this equation. You can be perfectly "pure" and create a bland product. And the opposite is true.

Unless it comes from Bavaria, German beer which is exported is not covered by the Reinheitsgebot. Only to what is sold domestically. So expect a load of preservatives.

In my opinion, beer is like bread. It's not made to be preserved and shipped half way around the world. It's a fresh, living product. If you want good beer, be in a place where good beer is made.

What is up with Fosters beer? Marketed in the US as Australian. Imported from Canada. Tastes rank. But not as bad as Moosehead. I like IPA microbrews.

Re: U.S. to close..

Like with most things, made in USA for the win, it’s the freedom that gives it that extra taste

You only have to drink it to know there are chemicals and god knows what else in there and as Dockhead mentioned above, its not all covered by for the export market.

The last Australian to drink Fosters was Bazza Mackenzie in the 60's....

You would battle to find it on the shelves in many 'strayan bottle shops although Dan still has it.

Lots of foreign beers are brewed under licence in the country of consumption.
