Athens

We will be in Greece in November rock climbing at Kalymnos and maybe chartering out of Athens for a few days (5-7) before we fly home. Any advice on where to go and what to see while sailing? Or maybe better where not to go.

Hi Lennie,
Let's hope the weather Gods work for you in November.
If chartering from Athens suggest best to plan a shortish circular cruise that sees you visit Agina, Poros, Hydra, Ermioni and back. That will give you some island life (expect that to be quiet in November) plus a chance to visit some out of the way spots on the Pelloponese mainland.
Enjoy
JOHN

We really enjoyed the town of Poros. Geared for visiting yachts, and we met some very friendly people there.

Thanks for the response. Are plans keep changing so we may just ferry it around. But if we do sail it will be out of Paros or Santirini. Probably make the decision when we get there.

I spent a couple of years in aegean sea and one winter in athen.
In our web site you can find our log but I want to suggest you don't waste time in athen area ( is very expensive and not so nice) and avoid shipyards in athen....we had a really bad experienced with a them!
