Best Time to Charter in Croatia ?

I am planning a bareboat charter in Croatia for either May or September. The dates in May work out a bit better (likely mid to late May) but I could make either work. Any thoughts on the two? I will likely fly into Venice but don't have to. Any thoughts on the best way to proceed from Venice? Thanks

Either are good dates. Water will be much warmer in September though than May.

Methinks less risk of stronger winds in September also. You could train or bus from Venice almost anywhere down the Croatian coast.

Zadar Airport English version | Zadar Airport ltd. - Zracna luka Zadar d.o.o. | ZADAR CROATIAis very close to one of the biggest marinas on Cratian Adritic Coast - Marina Dalmacija Marina Dalmacija.

There is no flight from Venice to Zadar, but you can check Split airport http://www.split-airport.hr/ and Dubrovnik Airport Dubrovnik.

Naither has a direct flight to USA, but hava a lot of flights to Europe big airports like Frankfurt, London and so on....

Train from Venice is not a good idea because it goes all the way around (via Zagreb...). Maybe bus to Rijeka, then ship down the coast Jadrolinija Ancona - Split Ancona Zadar Dubrovnik - Bari. Ship would be very logical to me....

I would plan on going in mid-to-late September. This way you can have warmer weather, warmer water, and less extreme winds. The later you go in September, the fewer tourists will be around. Split is a great area, but you could also consider Mali Losinj which is supposed to be a beautiful area to charter.
