Canary Islands to azores in May?

Hello all.

Sat here in gran canaria and thinking time to visit other places, as done all the islands now. Ideally want to cross to the Caribbean but having a dog prevents that as not fair for him to be sat on the boat for 3 weeks but 5 days is OK as we did that from Portugal to here.

So, thinking of heading to the Azores next may for a month or so and then heading back to gran canaria via Madeira in end July or in August.

Reading Jimmy cornells World cruising guide the timings seem to be ideal.

Anyone see a flaw in this idea, apart from the fact the trip north to the azores will be a bit of a slog!
