Chartering in Croatia in August?

I’ve been asked to put together a charter in Croatia for a group of friends in August 2024.

This is literally foreign territory for me so any hints would be appreciated.

I know that August is not a great time to go but unfortunately one of the couples can only take leave at that time of year.

Looking at a cat for 3-4 couples for 7-10 days.
Preferably easy to get to as we’ll all be flying in from different countries.

I have my Yachtmaster Offshore (RYA) and will get an ICC if needed.

be sure to book your cat on time. August is a prime time. Markets like Austria, Germany, Italy are a few hours car drive away and there is a great influx of people.


Be prepared for a lot of boats. I was very surprised to find out that a country like Croatia has 40% of the global nautical charter fleet (?!)

As for the itinerary - I would suggest Split islands archipelago (Brac, Hvar, Vis, Solta) but I am not sure if you will find a place in marinas.



Nevertheless, other archipelagos are very nice too (Zadar, Dubrovnik, Rijeka, Istra).
