should be fine, though you may want exit stamps in your passports.

where are you in the uk?the border agency does have offices in a few of the bigger ports.

Re: exit requirments from uk

hi just spoke to customs in plymouth, clearances as such don't exist any more.

was advised that you keep the counterfoil copy of your 1331 form that is sent to customs on departure as a clearance certificate for your next port.

you can call them on 01752 689 223 uk border ageency plymouth

i cant see you having a problem in st.lucia, just keep the 1331 as proof, and maybe your marina bill in plymouth to prove you left.

Re: exit requirments from uk

many boats arrive from the canary islands with out clearance certs, have not yet heard of one being asked to go back and get one!!

if in doubt at the other end, smile and ask them the cricket score!!
will soon forget all about clearance certs!

Unless your sailing direct to the Canaries you'll likely get a ZARPE type form when you clear Portugal or Spain... most marinas along there are tied into Customs and do all the paperwork for them.... but as Atoll says... don't sweat it for the EU related islands... its only the W.Carib it really becomes neccesary..

Re: exit requirments from uk

Wouldn't that fact that you are in St. Lucia be ample evidence that you left the UK?

Re: exit requirments from uk

They want the outbound clearance to make sure that you haven't been sailing around St Lucia for weeks before you checked in. With a little grumbling, they accepted a dated receipt I had in my pocket from St Croix, and they are likely to cut you more slack if you have one from the UK dated less than a month before you arrive.
