Help. so many questions!

Great I have found the boat I want, and can afford, (just) but I fear a mountain of bureaucratic c**p rising before me. So here goes.

I live in Turkey.
Boat is in Croatia, British registered & owned.
Ideally I want to go to Croatia and complete the deal. Then sail her back home.

As it is a "foreign" boat (brit to brit sale) what should I do in terms of making the sale 'official'?
Taking her out of Croatia and transiting through Greece do I have to wait until I have the British registry changed before I take the boat?

Anything else I haven't thought of!!

All observations and thoughts will be welcomed as I am sure that there must be plenty of people with experience of similar situations.

Help!!!!!

Re: Help. so many questions!

a bill of sale, and registration with ssr is all that is needed easy!

make sure if there is a vat reciept with the boat you get it from the previous owner.

Free Bill Boat Sale Contract or Bill of Sale Agreement

Re: Help. so many questions!

Thanks for that Atoll.

Can I get away with using the SSR, in his name, to get home or will I have to leave the boat where it is until I get the SSR changed to my name.

Re: Help. so many questions!

the new ssr only takes a few days to process if done online and sent to a uk address.

but generally a bill of sale, and the old ssr with a letter from the previous owner are enough to satisfy the customs when you arrive in turkey and greece.

on arrival in turkey a foreign reg vessel will need to get a log book/cruising permit, that is renewed yearly, this allows the vessel to stay for up to 5 years tax free in turkey.
