Iddyle 6 has sunk...Dale is OK...picked up by TRNC CG

News for those of you that know Dale on Iddyle 6 (a/k/a beneteau-500)

The Kyrenia police department in the TRNC informed a friend of mine that Iddyle 6 has sunk yesterday at 20 miles from Kyrenia. The TRNC coast guard found Dale this morning in the dinghy or life raft. He is ok.

That is all I know.

Bill, any way of checking up on this. We have been e-mailing Dale all the time and the last one was as he was about to set off for TRNC.

AUSTRALIAN SAVED

TRNC Coast Guard Command saved an Australian citizen who was in a boat with a British flag which was sinking 8 miles offshore at Kormacit.
According to the information given by the Coast Guard Command, upon the danger signal received by the Coast Guard Command Information Centre, The Australian was saved and handed to health teams in Girne port.

This is the info from the cyprusscene.com but there is nothing more..

So it was a hull failure not a collision with a container/log etc...

Speculation usually leads to rumours.

Untill we know if ever the facts best just to say thank God that Dale is safe.

There were SEVERE storms that day/evening on the coast where he was rescued.

.

No I am getting confused - I thought it was the TRNC Coastguard who saved him?, am pretty sure he would have thanked them direct himself .

He could have been demasted and then poled through no fault of his own. I hope we won't play the speculation game with one of our own. He's safe, and that's what coounts.

I'm glad to hear Dale / Bene 500 is ok. He seemed to have a wealth of info on the Med. Bad luck.
