Marinad in Madeira

We are staying one week in Madeira soon. I have heard rumours about very expensive marinas! Seeking advices for good inexpensive marina?

They aren't expensice for monos. Cheaper than the mainland even. For Cats of any size it's a whole other matter.

For my 10.7x4.6m cat I was offered €99 a night in Lagos on the mainland, and around €70 something per night in Quinto do Lorde.

You can anchor in Porto Santo in the harbour for €6 a night, or by the beach for the same price. It's nice enough there.

I'm currently anchored in Funchal. It's not so nice and the holding is poor, but it's a more comfortable anchorage than say almost anywhere in Palma bay in Mallorca.

P.S. If you need fuel and water, better to get it from Porto Santo. Funchal isn't well geared up for it.
