Passport and Customs Control Info Please

If an EU resident travels from France to the Cannery Islands and then to South America, is that person subject to the same strict passport electronic scan and custom controls like those at airports?

Re: Passport and Customs Control Info Please

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Brasstacks.

There;s no need to double post your query.

The customs controls are likely to be even more strict by private boat, than by air.

Re: Passport and Customs COntrol Info Please

Most customs and immigration offices that I've seen aren't heavily computerized, with the U.S. being the big exception. If customs decides to check your boat, then it will be much more in-depth than at an airport (just think of how much bigger the inside of a boat is than a suitcase), but usually customs isn't as interested in you as is the immigration authority. Check out www.noonsite.com for a good list of customs and immigration rules for cruisers by region and country.
