Problem with danfoss bd35f compressor

Our danfoss compressor appears to be drawing in excess of 17 amps. Mother 12 volt version that we have, is rated at 3.8 amps. Has anybody seen this problem?

Wow 17 amps ! What kind of system do you have ? Does the compressor get hot , is it getting cold at all ?

Sounds like there is air in the system, leak check it and re-vacuum and re-gas it.

Ok, getting my husband to describe the source of the issue:

The problem was the control panel that has all of the switches for the boat systems. It appears that upwards of 15 amps was going through the control panel, as well as the correct number of amps going through the fridge and freezer. Taking the switch and the control panel out of the circuit made everything fine.... Beneteau has some explaining to do.

So there was 15 amps of total load? Sounds someone needs to learn their boat and how things work.

SailorBoy 1 it is a 48 foot boat!!! The French probably put in a wine cooler and they don't know about it...
