Many only think of the Azores as a stop on their way from the US or the Caribbean to mainland Europe.

But, as I found out recently, the Azores is a great sailing destination (in summer)!

The Azores are fantastic. Coming from Bermuda, our first stop was Flores. It was a beautiful island and well worth visiting. As a bonus, when we arrived in 2015, there were no immigration officials. We checked the boat in, but our passports were not stamped until we got to Horta. Our time in Flores did not count against our 90 day Schengen time.
