Sailing the Coast of Portugal

Hi there...

Well, first of all i´m not a very experience sailor.... i just do sail (snipe model) for fun, but i use to talk with my folks about doing the Portuguese coast from Algarve to Leixões - Matosinhos (for example). Some of the guys have done it and all they say that it´s a hard tough job. The winds at the Portuguese coast are mostly from North and from middle of July to all August month we normally have strong winds (those winds are named here as "nortadas"). In a additional info, those winds usually star at 11.00/11.30am and get stronger at 13.00pm till 18.00pm (all UTC time). Same of the guys say that a good previous forecast is the key to do these trip with "minus turbulence"..and keep your boat motor in good conditions (you will need it for sure...lol)
Try to choose from end of March till end of June to do your journey....
