teak repair in turkey

Hello all,
Just bought a 13 year old boat with slight teak issues that requires attention, sanding changing few planks and re-caulking..
I am told that turkey / Marmaris is good place and value to fix the teak issues. Any one has any recent experience with this and any recommendations ??

We do not have a teak deck but we did haul in Netsel Marmaris in 2018 and saw a few boats getting teak work done - the workmanship was outstanding and great attention to detail - Turkey has some outstanding carpenters who do incredible work - just look at their gulets

Yes, got it done in Marmaris at the end of 19. All is good now. They done a good job for a reasonable price, but u need to be around when it’s getting done I feel.

Would you mind telling me who did the work,what size boat ,was it just side and fore deck? The biggy if it’s not too rude the cost?Im in contact with a company called Yes-yachting in Kusadasi Turkey

Sure, mine was just light sanding, changing few pieces and re-caulking. Cost end up being around 4.5k euro.
Boat is HR 43 with lots of teak as u can imagine.
Ali is the man in Marmaris but I am not sure if he speaks English that well. They are based in nestel marina in Marmaris - his no is + 905377826690.

You can give him my boat name, Kara D, as reference and ask him to get you a good price. My name is yuksel and I have spent 10 days with them in nestel marina.

My boat is not there any more, but they will remember it for sure.
If he can’t speak good English, you can tell me what you want done I can pass it to him to get a quote for the work and you compare. I can speaks turkish. Or just keep it simple with him.
