Yep. When Hurricane Michael descended on us, a respiratory virus got loose in our crowded Emergency Operations Center, taking out two of three professionals and one volunteer (me). It took me three months and three rounds of antibiotics (it went to bacterial) to get rid of it. Think I should go back to the same building for another round?

A similar system passed through south Louisiana last night and is now in the Gulf, though there is no mention of it at the NHC.

If the season develops as it has for the last several years (never a safe bet), upper level shear will keep these type systems from reaching full potential, at least for the first month or two.

After that, when the (I assume) contrasting-temperature-driven winds die down a bit (mid-July - August), all bets are off.

I'm curious to see what effect the cleaner air as a result of the global travel restrictions/economic downturn will have on the generation and intensity of storms.

I know it literally hurt my eyes to look at the last full moon...but that's pretty subjective; don't know if it was my aging eyes or a genuinely 'brighter' moon...
