22' Sailboat from RI to Miami?

I have a 22' MacGregor Venture from 1982 with a swing keel. Its in decent shape. I was hoping to spend a couple months slowly sailing from RI to Miami via the intercoastal waterway.

Would this be safe? Is this boat to small?

If the boats in good shape with a good engine you'll have no problems with the ICW. There won't be much if any sailing in large stretches of this route though.

I'm guessing you are powered with a big outboard like most Macs? If so you won't have any problem just limit your time to daylight and wait for the right weather to get from Rhode Island to via Long Island Sound to NYC to NJ so you can get inside.
