Anchorage near Sunset Bar St Martin?

Is there a safe place to anchor a bareboat catamaran near Sunset Bar in St Martin? Also are you able to dinghy up to the beach there, Maho Beach? Thanks for any info on this!

I don't think so for a couple reasons.

First, you'd have to violate the stand off distance from the end of the runway - you'd be inside the restricted area buoys (unless they've changed in the last couple years since I've been there).

Second, even if you didn't have to honor any restricted area, it wouldn't be a smart anchorage unless it was quite calm. But this may depend on your definition of "safe".
