Anse de Marigot in St. Barts

Does anybody have personal experience with this bay? It's right next to Grand Cul de Sac. I have Pavilidis' guide and read the description of the entry. I also had been advised at one time that the North coast of SBH had been made off limits to anchoring.

Designated a marine preserve. Yachts prohibited.

Did a couple days in Gustava last year. IIe Fourchue is nice for a secluded mooring.

Thanks Mike. Did you get that info out of a guide book?

I'm looking for an off the beaten path anchorage in an area where the paths are paved, so to speak. I guess Shell Beach it is. Or Gouverneur, or Saline. Were looking for something that has restaurants on the beach.

You should come to SXM for the Heineken Regatta. We'll be down from the 1st to the 6th. I haven't been to it yet but is sounds like a great party. And, there's some sailing thrown in as a bonus.

Anse de Columbier on the West side of the island is a good spot. It is a Preserve but has free moorings and is usually calm. From the beach you can hike to a town.

Thanks SpecialD. I hope we can meet as there is only about 300 feet that separate our boats at Captain Oliver's. I've been to Columbier enough times but do appreciate the the suggestion. As I had posted, I was looking for a spot less traveled, and that's tough in our area. Have a Merry Christmas and tell the gang at the Dingy Dock that David said hello. We arrive on the 26th so maybe we'll see you.
David.

I'll be in STM on the 6th. Most likely Simpson Bay. Then out and about.

I'll be on the boat for Christmas as our condo across the Pond is rented that week.
