Re: Any good anchorages convenient to Manhattan?

Wow, old thread... brings back some good memories!

We ended up staying at Port Washington, which turned out to be a great option for us. Port Washington itself was pleasant, protected and convenient to shopping, etc. Getting into downtown Manhattan was simple by taking the train. Took about 45 minutes each way, but easy peasy.

Re: Any good anchorages convenient to Manhattan?

Thanks, are there any facilities (showers) at PW? Did you feel the dinghy was safe?

One advantage of Coney Is is that you get on the subway and go anywhere, rather than just Penn Station as with LIRR
