Hello all! I’m new to boat ownership, and I have lots of questions. We bought a 1982 42’ Californian LRC with Cat 3208 turbo, the 260 horse version. We live on her in the Florida keys. We are currently trying to make her cruise ready for a trip into the Bahamas and maybe to the US Virgin islands. We have lots to do, but I’m looking for experience on getting a boat equipped for this kind of cruise. Any opinions of this type of boat making this trip? Anyone with knowledge of the Californian LRC? I’m leaving it pretty open ended on any help people want to offer. Radar, water maker, Navigation, stabilizers, any thing is fair game to recommend. Also a recommendation on some corses I could be working on to help me learn the rules of the road, navigation and of course safety. Thanks in advance Nick!
