Bahamas or Cuba?

Hi all, we are booking a holiday for spring break. Dates are Mar 25 to Apr 1. Since we are still land dwellers, we are looking at all inclusive. We have done a few before and like trying new places so the 2 options we have are..
Freeport Bahamas at the viva Wyndham. 3 1/2 * but supposedly pretty nice, and walking distance to the marina:-) so can maybe find someone nice enough to take us for a sail.
Holguín Cuba memories resort. 4* but quieter location. That's fine since we aren't really partiers. We have been to Cuba before and enjoyed it, but not this location yet.
Price wise Cuba is cheaper but only by $1000 Canadian for 4 of us. We are leaning towards Bahamas but would like to hear from you cruisers who have been to either. More about general area, culture, people, weather ect. Plus if anyone wants to take us for a sail or even just let us come for a tour to get a feel for boats larger than our pocket cruiser;-) we will of course bring rum or 🍻
Thanks,
Chris mac

Re: Bahamas or Cuba?

You can't go wrong with either place. Pros & cons with both. We did Cuba and glad we visited but other places to see now. Freeport is nice also and we do love the Bahamian folks. Suggest you give that a try if you haven't been there before. Good luck! 👍

Re: Bahamas or Cuba?

So we have booked the Bahamas. We will be in Freeport from the evening of the 25th to Apr 1. If any members are around there and willing to show off their boat, we would appreciate it. Our experience is all on a 26' mono on lakes, so it would be great to see some bigger boats.
