Bakers Bay closed to public

bakers bay club on the north end of great guana cay in the abacos is now closed to the public, according to a note published on the explorer charts website.

Bakers Bay Club and Marina on the north end of Great Guana Cay in the Abacos is now completely closed to the public unless you dock at their marina for two or more nights or are a member/homeowner.

That doesn't sound good. How do they police it?

It think the club has always wanted non guests to stay off their property, but I understand the beaches are public access in the Bahamas. I've often walked the beach, and had security approach me. I've just explained nicely I understand I need to stay on the beach, and they've always left me alone.

I love the big crescent beach around the corner on the NW end of the island. In addition to a great beach, it's less than a 100 yard swim out to the reef. (I of course enjoyed it even more prior to the resort....)
