Best Caribbean Flag for your boat.

Greetings--

I'm in the process of buying a boat in the Caribbean, which has a Carribbean flag, but I'm a west coast sailor.

But I recently heard someone say "You could spend your whole life just cruising the Bahamas and never get bored."

I've also heard cruising permits are expensive.

So maybe the best deal is to flag the boat in the Bahamas and save on cruising permits?

Or maybe there are other issues that are more important.

Love to hear your thoughts.

I'm a US citizen but the boat won't be in the USA very often, just for a refit.
