Best place to get out of the hurricane box

This forum has been a great source of information so thanks in advance. Where do folks go to get out of the hurricane box from June to November? And what are the pros and cons? It would seem to me that heading south to Grenada in the hottest part of the year would be a bit uncomfortable. But maybe not? For those that head back to the East Coast, how far would you have to be "safe."

Panama is another common option. You can even sail there from Grenada during hurricane season as 'canes at that latitude are very rare.

Grenada in the summer rainy season on the coast isn't that hot. Inland can be steamy, but doable. All depends on your tolerance for tropical conditions.
It's also less crowded during those months.

I think underwriters still want you above 36 Lattitude. I am heading for Deltaville in a few days from St Maarten.
The benefits for me are, the boat is a short drive from home.
Marina is a very nice park like setting with bands on weekends, community atmosphere, crabbing fishing etc. So instead of paying for flights, hotels etc somewhere over summer, we will go 'vacation' on the bay.
Close by haul out facilities.
I can work a ton and make money to throw at the boat!
