Bocas del Toro

Anyone there now? Particularly in Red Frog? There is a boat for sale I'd like to see but it's a huge cost to get there and have been burned before. Just looking for a quick look to see if it's worth the trip.
Thanks!

Maybe see if you can find a facebook group for the area and ask the question?

Re: Bocas del Toro

Missed me by a year! Locally there is Jeff (diesel mechanic), and Russell (refrigeration/canvas/ misc.) both based out of Bocas Marina, but often work at Red Frog. They have been down there for a few years and will also know the back story on the boat if it has been there awhile. The dockmaster at Red Frog is DeCi (DC), we found him to be very pleasant and helpful.

Other than that you could get a cruiser to ask on the local net for you.

Re: Bocas del Toro

I keep my boat there for hurricane season for two years. My South Africa friend Steve worked and lived in the marina for 5 years. He knows everybody and probably could give you the inside scoop on the boat. What’s the name and what type of boat is it?

Second Jeff. A good option for looking at the boat, and can asses the engine condition.

Re: Bocas del Toro

Re travel: you may find flying into a San Jose, CR a more cost effective option. From there, you can fly direct to Bocas or bus it to Almirante and water taxi to Bocas.
