BVI to Cartagena

Hello,

I am planning to take my 41 ft boat (CL41) from the BVI to Cartagena sometime this year and I was wondering if Island hoping would be a good idea instead of going direct.

Thanks in advance

JC,

You certainly wouldn't need to island hop, but why pass up the opportunity of visiting the wonderful islands of the Lesser Antilles and the islands off the northern coast of South America? A non-stop passage would take you about 5 days, if you're in a hurry. If you island hop, you can take as long as you like. Just plan to be in Grenada or heading west toward the ABC's by hurricane season.

Re: BVI to Cartagena

I'm curious as to how you ended up making this trip if you made it at all?
I would really like to take a cruise from miami, through the thorny path towards trinidad, then sail to cartagena...

I can answer that, just in case JC doesnt see your post.

I helped him move the boat to Cartagena and we did it in a straight shot from BVI taking, as I recall, about 4 days.

Unfortunately due to various reasons, he had to sell the boat. Tony
