Cooking gas bottles

I need to replace my steel camping gas bottles which are 'not serviceable' and ideally those composite bottles would be great but won't fit in the gas compartment. I have found in st lucia they won't sell me a new bottle only exchange or refill. Before sailing back across the Atlantic to Europe I need to sort out my cooking gas. Would Martinique be a worthwhile option or any other ideas? I reckon that might be a good place to provision in any case for a long crossing.

Re: Cooking gas bottles

Pretty much everything for a boat can be purchased in St. Maarten. Are you looking for camping gaz bottles or regular propane? If camping gaz they sell them in Marigot. If you need more info I can tell you next week as I'm heading there to pick two up for myself.
