Cuba from Bahamas

I am seeking facts on the possibility of sailing to Cuba from Bahamas then on to Jamaica as part of a circumnavigation. US citizen and USCG registered boat.

I understand that the US has made it illegal. Does the Cuban government care? Will they allow me to clear in? Will they allow me to clear out to continue my journey to Jamaica and beyond? I do not plan on returning to the States for a few years as the plan is to keep going around the world.

And yes, I know Cuba is currently closed due to Covid-19. My inquiry is part of my planning for when it opens.

Any info would be helpful as Cuba is high on my list of places to explore.
