Ferries in the Exumas?

I recently read that there is a ferry service from Little Farmers to Great Exuma. It makes me wonder if there are ferrys running throughout the Exumas. Would be handy to know for getting visitors to and from the boat. Anyone know of such ferries?

Wow, thanks. Just the type of info I am looking for.

It does seem that the Exumas are a little thin on ferries. Are there many water taxis there?

Re: Ferries in the Exumas?

There are water Taxies in Georgetown. They can run you between Stocking Island and town. I have never seen taxies anywhere else in the Exumas but haven't stayed there as much as others on this forum so maybe they can give you better advice. I guess you could probably arrange some sort of water transportation at Staniel Cay.
My two cents would be is to have a good dingy when going to the Exumas.

Re: Ferries in the Exumas?

There are at less four outfits that run hi-speed boats on daytrips from Great Exuma to Staniel Cay. I know they'll run people one way and small freight. Look at Four-C's, Exumacaysadventures, Exuma Water Sports and Out Island adventures. Don't try with a dinghy, unless your dinghy is over 24ft. If it is, just send your helicopter.
